---|---|---|---|
The Factory of a Better Tomorrow is the third theme in LittleBigPlanet 2. This area is based on communist ideas during the era between the 1940s and 1950s with a prominent art style of Art Deco and Dada.
"Poor old Clive. Allow him to self-indulgently monologue his way through recent events and hear all about his pitiful tale of woe." - The Sad Song Of Clive Handforth | |||
Story & Theme | |||
After leaving Victoria's Laboratory to locate the infected Sackbots in the Factory of a Better Tomorrow, the Alliance meets Clive Handforth, the depressed factory owner, who joins the Alliance on their journey to locate and free the enslaved Sackbots. The Sackbots are found in predicaments like being caught in the Happy Happers, needing to be rescued by following the player to safe spots found around the Factory. At the end of the theme, Clive's guardian turkey Copernicus is brainwashed by the Negativitron and set free to chase down the Sackbots and the Alliance. When Copernicus is defeated, Clive joins the rest of the Alliance in moving onward to Avalonia. | |||

Notes[]
- The original name for this zone was "Neon Propaganda".
- This theme and The Cosmos are the only themes in LittleBigPlanet 2 that are not named after their creator curators.
- Clive and this theme reappear in LittleBigPlanet 3: The Journey Home and a new type of Sackbot is seen, the Bomb-Bot.
- In the level Pipe Dreams, Clive states that the huge red fist has "been in the factory before my time". However, in Maximum Security, Clive states that he had built the factory "from the ground up". This might indicate that Clive built the factory around the fist.
- The economic system in place used to be neo-capitalism as Clive says in an earlier version of the game. In the game you can see lots of communist symbolism, which indicates that the Sackbots seized the means of production in a worker uprising.
- In LittleBigPlanet Karting, any object, sticker, decoration or material from this theme does not call it 'The Factory of a Better Tomorrow', but rather 'The Factory'.
- The Journey Home's version of The Factory of a Better Tomorrow's background is also simply named "The Factory".
