Sackbots are a new type of character in [http://littlebigplanet.wikia.com/wiki/LittleBigPlanet_2 LittleBigPlanet2] that follow your sackperson with vastly improved AI compared to creatures in the original and the PSP version. Players can change their appearance by "dressing them up" in a similar way that players "dress up" their sackperson by using hats, clothes, glasses, and other things. The Sackbots can have modified behaviors, such as those similar to the creature brains in the original Little Big Planet, including follow and retreat. However there are many more detailed options that can be applied to a sackbot's behaviour like "scared of heights" where a sackbot will refuse to jump off high platforms with you. They can also be animated in the same way as a player animates their sackperson. A Sackbot can be programed to do many things such as Following your sackboy or girl, flee from them, attack them, make them actors, or act like a zombie and lots of other stuff. Sackbots can be big, small, tiny, big with a tiny head, small with a big head, well any size you want. Like Sackboy, you can put decorations on it.

The player can obtain a Sackbot costume when you complete Story Mode's final boss. Sackbots may be further customized through use of their built in microchips. With these you can apply properties such as an emitter, anti gravity or a health bar as if that sackbot were an object. Players also can use the Controlinator and wire it to a Sackbot or groups of them to give the player the ability to control the sackbot itself.
