Sackbots are wooden, robotic Sackboy-like characters introduced in LittleBigPlanet 2.
Story[]
LittleBigPlanet 2[]
The Sackbots are first made by Victoria von Bathysphere who intended to create a army for the Alliance to help defeat the Negativitron, unfortunately the Negativitron kidnapped all of Victoria's Sackbots and Brainwashed them all to go to The Factory of a Better Tomorrow. This is where they are first seen with eyes and are able to talk and have emotions, which may mean that the Negativitron's brainwashing gave them life. In the Factory all the Sackbots have been trapped in Handforth Happy Hampers, in which you must free them. The Sacbots start off scared of you and their eyes are flashing hazard signs, but after going through a tube like contraption they start to follow you and their eyes turn into flashing red hearts. In Bang for a Buck the sackbots have both scared and heart eyes, they will flee from you but will follow Luscious Lucy. In Fowl Play the Sackbots eyes turn into their normal round blue screens. After you save the Sackbots from Copernicus, they for some reason loose their eyes, they load onto the pod and head to Avalonia. In Avalonia the Sackbots need to be loaded into Huge Spaceship which gets destroyed. The Sackbots do not appear much in Eve's Asylum but there are many Meanies that were made from Victoria's Sackbots. After Huge Spaceship is Fixed and then destroyed once again by the Negativitron, the Sackbots escape with the escape pods to the Negitivitron's planet. There they help you destroy meanies and get past doors that sackboy cannot. In the Final boss all the Sackbots and Avalon's other inventions hold back the meanies while you and the Alliance with the exception of Eve fight the Negativitron. In the credits Sackbots can be seen fighting off leftover meanies.
LittleBigPlanet Karting[]
In LittleBigPlanet Karting Sackbots return as CPU racers that are said to help you fight off the Hoard, though they attack you as well.
LittleBigPlanet 2 PS Move Pack[]
The Sackbots make their most prominent debut in the Move Pack. In addition to acting as Sackboy's allies, they are also given varied personalities and appearances. They are shown to have made their home in the Sackbot Valley, where a quaint village resides. The town's inhabitants are shown to be dressed in eyes, decorations, and such which makes them stand out compared to their otherwise featureless counterparts.
LittleBigPlanet 3 The Journey Home[]
In the Journey Home the Sackbots make their only appearance in The Factory of a Better Tomorrow, some are seen working there on typewriters. There is also a new type of Sackbot introduced, called Bomb-Bots. They are Sackbots stickered yellow with a hazard sign on their face and a flashing red light on their head, once picked up, they start ticking, after a while they start to shake rapidly right before they explode.
Trivia[]
- Sackbots are made out of maple wood.
- The Sackbot costume can be obtained in two ways:
- Saving the costume via a Sackbot's "Save Costume" option.
- Completing the last level of LittleBigPlanet 2, Into The Heart Of The Negativitron.
- Sackbots are a good way of sharing costumes in LittleBigPlanet 2.
- Using random costume on two different Sackbots at the same time will result both Sackbots to have different costumes.
- A Sackbot's microchip's size is irregularly off-grid size, until resized. Probably a left over artifact from the beta, where microchip's sizes were not confined to a grid.
- The White Wolf animation style from LittleBigPlanet 3 has no purpose in the story, but the appearance does match the costume Regal Wolf.
- In the level High Stakes Heist, the Fort Guards were originally going to be Regal Wolves.
- Sackbots don't return as Objects in LittleBigPlanet Karting, but as CPU racers instead.
- In the trailer for Sackbots, it may be a reference to Frankenstein in the opening part.
- Sackbots can also be seen in the Littlebigplanet 1 deploy build.
