The Mushroom Tree, an object collected in The Gardens.
Objects refer to items found in the Goodies Bag that can be physically interacted with. In the LittleBigPlanet series, players have access to a library of Objects, normally divided into four categories by the page they are found on: Materials, Collected Objects, My Objects, and Community Objects.
Obtaining and using[]
Any Object in a player's Goodies Bag can be brought into the level, as long as there is space available in the Thermometer and the Object does not include content from DLC that the player does not own. In all mainline games until LittleBigPlanet 3, Objects can only be placed in levels in Create Mode, and can never be introduced into the Pod. In LittleBigPlanet 3, the Popit Power-up allows selected Objects to be placed in levels in Play Mode.
The set of available Objects in Create Mode expands when either: a new Object is collected from a Prize Bubble or the Scoreboard in a level; the Capture Object function is used to save a custom Object made from a combination of different Objects; or DLC that includes new Objects is purchased and applied. Only Objects in the My Objects and Community Objects categories can be deleted; Collected Objects and Materials are permanently added to the Goodies Bag.
Properties[]
Objects can have Stickers & Decorations placed on them. In Create Mode or using the Popit Power-up, players can also place Gadgets on them, and apply Hazards to them. Objects occupy one or more layers; this influences where in the level the Object can be interacted with. The layer(s) an Object occupies can be changed in Create Mode or using the Popit Power-up (when enabled).
Objects collected in Story levels are either formed out of Materials carved into particular shapes, or are entirely unique set pieces with unique three-dimensional models. Objects of the former type can be easily modified by using the Material Changer to change what their pieces are made of, or using the Sticker & Decoration Tool to remove pre-placed Stickers or Decorations from them. By contrast, Objects of the latter type are not made of a particular Material, and have unique weight and grabbability properties.
