LittleBigPlanet is an award winning series, originally created by Media Molecule. As of now it has six full length games, LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet Portable, LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet 3, LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, and LittleBigPlanet Karting, as well as two spin off downloadable games titled Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves, and Run Sackboy! Run!. The series has put a strong emphasis on creativity and are well known for their in-depth level customization tools, unique art style and user friendly level search feature.

The main protagonist of the series is Sack-Thing, however as LittleBigPlanet 3 came along, several new playable characters came along; OddSock, Toggle, and Swoop.

LittleBigPlanet (often abbreviated LBP) is a is an puzzle platformer and world creation video game for the PlayStation 3, first announced on March 7, 2007 by Phil Harrison at the 2007 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, California. You must travel around Craftworld as a small plush named Sackboy to stop a new evil, The Collector, from taking over. As you travel around and meet new friends, The Collector starts capturing those new friends, and eventually you must confront him and defeat him.

While LittleBigPlanet does feature a Story mode, there is also a community where you can submit your own levels or play levels created by other sackfolk online, as well as the ability to play with friends, or random players online using the Quick Play function.

In LittleBigPlanet (PSP), Sackboy is sent by The Mystic to travel around the world to see what is troubling several Creator Curators, as they have not responded to their party invitations. LittleBigPlanet (PSP) has most of the core functions of the first LittleBigPlanet, however is missing some minor ones, such as only having two layers, and not being able to take in-game screenshots.

In LittleBigPlanet 2, a giant mean-looking vacuum cleaner called the Negativitron comes to suck up all the creativity from Craftworld. Sackboy, and several other characters along the way, are invited by Larry Da Vinci to join a team titled The Alliance to help stop the Negativitron. Along the way, you are taught how to use many useful Powerups such as the Grappling Hook and Creatinator. In the end, you defeat the Negativitron with the help of your fellow Alliance members and the Powerups that you've learned to use.

LittleBigPlanet 2 added many new Logic items to the series, which has been a core feature of the series ever since.

The Japanese online servers were closed on July 31, 2016.[2]

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita

In LBP Vita, a fun, new planet appears in Craftworld, and everybody is attracted to it. Is this really just a fun planet? Or is something going on?

LBP Vita has mostly the same features as LBP2, with a few additions such as the Memoriser and Rotating Disc, as well as compatibility with the PS Vita's touch screens.

In LittleBigPlanet 3, a new friendly face named Newton forces Sackboy to come to Bunkum, and asks Sackboy to help him stop the "evil" Nana Pud from releasing The Titans.

It was announced at Sony's E3 2014 media briefing on 9 June 2014. The game was released in November 18, 2014. LittleBigPlanet 3 has all the same features as its predecessor LittleBigPlanet 2, but with most of features that community waited for LBP2 but wasn't relased, for example, more layers and a saving mechanism. It also had many other unexcepted features, like other playable characters. At its release, it was very buggy and crashed sometimes. However, patches have fixed most of the bugs.

LittleBigPlanet Karting

LittleBigPlanet karting is a video game which involves kart racing. It is by Media Molecule and United Front Games, the makers of ModNation Racers. The game was released exclusively on the Playstation 3 and was released in the Fall of 2012.

LittleBigPlanet Hub is a PSN download title that features free and exclusive content besides offering options to buy everything that is currently available for LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2. It will also have a some of the story from LBP1 and LBP2 as well as its own small story. It is unknown if this game is cancelled yet.

Run Sackboy! Run!  is a LittleBigPlanet spin-off that came out in October 2014. It is an endless runner were you collect score points and unlock costumes for LittleBigPlanet 3. It was released on iOS, Android and PS VITA. The game is free to play.
